Team USA just defeated Germany minutes ago in Meribel, 2-0. It is the first
time since 1960 that USA has started off with two wins. We know what happened
that year...
USA was outshot 46-27 but LeBlanc was superb according to the radio guys,
posting USA's first Olympic shutout in 28 years. The first was scoreless,
then Marty McInnis took a feed from Moe Mantha and scored a PPG at 5:25 of
the 2nd. Germany was all over LeBlanc in the third, outshooting USA 15-6,
but the only goal came from Ted Donato on the power play at 11:56 as he put
in the rebound of Steve Heinze's shot.
USA next faces Finland, also 2-0-0 after beating Poland today, 9-1. Sweden
faces Italy later today.
