Due to other pressing obligations, I'll only be able to provide a brief
summary of the weekend's play.

Friday night:
Clarkson 7, Dartmouth 3

As was previously posted, Clarkson came out flat in the first period against
Dartmouth. The forwards were standing around watching the play around them.
In the second period, Clarkson came out to play and scored 4 goals. The
first was a short handed tally by Scott Thomas. In the third period,
Clarkson scored two more goals before Dartmouth scored again. The play did
deteriate, with Dartmouth being a little chippy and Clarkson contributing
the same.

Vermont 3, SLU 1

Vermont opened up a two goal lead before SLU scored their only goal late in
the second period. Freshman goalie, Christian Soucy, was excellent in net,
stopping the SLU forwards numerous times in the third period. The final
UVM goal was an empty netter.

Saturday
SLU over Dartmouth by 1.

Dartmouth actually led for most of the game until the third period when
SLU was able to pull ahead for the win.

UVM 4
Clarkson 2

Soucy completely frustrated Clarkson in the first and especially the third
period. Soucy stopped shot after shot when Clarkson was on the power play
three times in the last 7 minutes of the game. The last two and a half
minutes were 6 on 4. Soucy (who should be Player of the Week) robbed
Clarkson from tieing the score numerous times. Vermont scored the only
first period goal. Clarkson had a pathetic 3 shots during that period.
Clarkson scored twice during the second period. Marchant did play both
games and scored the second goal vs. Vermont. UVM tied it at 2 with a
pp goal 5-6 minutes into the third period. Vermont went ahead at the
12 minute mark on a shot from the side of the net that bounced off of
Roggles. Roggles did play both games. The fourth UVM goal was an empty
net goal with about 30 sec left. Clarkson was really applying pressure
for the last 10 minutes and caused UVM to take four penalties, but could
not beat Soucy. Clarkson was even on the pp 6-4 after the empty net goal.
Vermont is now 9-1-1 at home, the only loss to BU in double OT.

This weekend will be another important one vs. Cornell and Colgate. If
there are any Cornell fans coming up, let me know at [log in to unmask]

There is no real dominant team in the ECAC this year, just look at Yale's,
Clarkson's, SLU's and Cornell's losses this weekend. The only reason
Harvard is up by four points is that they had an easier past weekend.
However, the Crimson visit Yale and Princeton this weekend.
