OK, since enquiring minds want to know, Brown and Yale played to a
deadlock at Sky Rink, Chelsea Piers, in New York City last Sunday.

The scrimmage format was split squads, two games, with
upperclassmen and freshmen mixed for both contests. On the Brown side,
three freshmen (Josh Barker, JF LaBarre, and Darren McPeak) and sophomore
John Petricig played in both games. The Bears used their two freshmen
goaltenders in the matches while junior goalie Scott Stirling did not see
action.

Both games ended in ties, with Yale coming from behind in the first
scrimmage to tie Brown 3-3, and the Bears storming back from a 2-0 deficit
in the second game to gain a 4-4 tie. All in all, an excellent opportunity
for Coaches Grillo and Taylor to see their new recruits in collegiate
competition for the first time and for both squads to size up one another
for their first regular season match at Ingalls Rink on New Haven on
Friday, November 20th.

Next up for the Bears is an exhibition game against the 1998 AUAA
Conference and CIAU National Champion University of New Brunswick Varsity
Reds at Meehan Auditorium this Sunday at 3:00 p.m. following UNB's visit
to Baker Rink in Tigertown the previous evening. Stay tuned.
