RE: Maine's appeal
It should/could be next week when the decision will be announced. A week
ago a report came out that the NCAA would rule this current week or next
week. Since it is Friday at 5:20 p.m., I think it's safe to assume it won't
be this week.
Remember, as it stands now Maine cannot compete in the Hockey East
Tournament. Hockey East passed a rule last summer that said if a team was
ineligible for the NCAA Tournament, it was automatically ineligible for the
Hockey East Tournament.
While this undoubtably hurts Maine, it's a good rule because it takes the
reasoning and human bias element out of these decisions.
