From the department of incidental information (a/k/a someone who is
already suffering off-season withdrawals):
There are 11 regular members of the CCHA, each playing a 30 game
conference schedule. This results in a total of 330 points
distributed over the course of the season. In 1992-93, senior
goaltenders only accounted for 4 (1 win, 2 ties) of those 330
points! Needless to say, assuming all underclassmen return for
1993-94, no CCHA team is losing their #1 goaltender. In fact,
it's arguable that no CCHA team is losing their #2 goaltender
(it depends on who gets the #2 nod at Notre Dame).
Yes, the CCHA class of '93 had NOTHING between the pipes. I will
add that Ohio State's three year starter, Mike Bales (now with the
Bruin organization) would have been a senior this season had he
not turned pro.
