While it seems as if divisions is the way the WCHA is heading and I'm not
against it per se, I would like to add a few comments.

First, if there are three divisions of 4 teams, and the current point system
is used, 24 points would come from division games (play 3 teams 4 times) and
32 pints would come from non-division games (play 8 teams 2 times). This
seems out of balance, and making out of division games worth more would
make things more out of kilter. It seems as if when one had divisions, most
of the points should come from games in the division.

Another trouble spot is how to handle season ticket situations in places
like Wisconsin where one buys tickets for either Friday or Saturday, how
does one fairly split up packages when a team only comes into town once.
Perhaps a better solution would be to have non-division games be either at
home or away, again the splitting is tricky, but it would involve less
travel as well.
