Regarding this cheer- does anyone out there know where it originated?
I know it has a 'cute' ring to it, but I had never heard it before moving east
five and a half years ago, and it's just never really made sense to me. Back
in the mid-west, the absolute worst thing one could call a goalie is a funnel
(which not only lets all pucks through like a sieve, but also re-directs those
which would have missed), and vacuum was on occasion used as a complimentary
term for a tender who was, in essence, sucking in all available pucks, to
himself,
not the net...
Any historians out there?
