As many of you know, marooned as I am here in the college hockey waste-
land of Southern Maryland I don't get to attend many regular season games in
person. Instead, I've come to rely on the many diligent correspondents of
HOCKEY-L to keep me amused and up-to-date on the week in/week out college
hockey goings-on 'cross the nation. Then March rolls around and I hit the
Interstates for my annual northward pilgrimage for the Hockey East play-offs
and/or the NC$$s when they rotate back to an Eastern site. This year I went
for the gusto and had a wonderful time at 13 post-season matches in Boston,
Providence and Albany. Since the NC$$ Eastern Regionals were scheduled for
Thursday and Saturday, that left Friday evening free .... what to do ?? Why
attend the 20th Annual Hockey Night in Boston of course, this year held at
the Volpe Complex at Merrimack College. This post-season scholastic tour-
nament is an annual showcase for high school and prep seniors, as well as a
few draft-eligible juniors, many of whom eventually wind up sporting the
familiar sweater of any of a number of DivI/III college rosters.
Back in early April, [log in to unmask] posted to the list a
composite roster of participating players [THANKS !!] This was scanned
directly from the HNiB Program which, unfortunately, excludes recruitment
information from the tabled rosters and buries it instead deep within the
thumb-nail sketch of each "team." I've extracted college destination where
available from the HNiB program, and coupled this with a list of 1992-93 HE
recruits published recently in the Boston "Globe." Players listed with no
statistics were entered from team recruits compiled by the "Globe" - no
further information was provided. Mike Machnik and Wayne Smith have already
summarized the Merrimack and Maine recruits (respectively) much more
thoroughly than given here - interested readers should consult their earlier
posts for more detailed information. I've not seen any information posted
on the remaining HE teams, however, so I thought someone might find the
following summaries (in order of 1992-93 regular season finish) of interest.
Corrections, updates, etc. cheerfully accepted - zip me a note and I'll
post an addendum as necessary ....

Both Perry and Sullivan were selected as first-team members of the Boston
"Globe" All-Scholastic Team. Mike set career school scoring marks for
Reading High, and figured in all five goals (2 goals, 3 assists) in Reading's
shocking 5-4 victory over Matignon in this year's Mass. State Scholastic
Tournament, the tourney's first-ever public school victory over a Catholic
school. Also reportedly in the fold is [Hmmm, now what was his name ??], a
6'3" goal-keeper from Nova Scotia who is expected to battle returning net-
minder Brett Abel for the starting spot vacated by the departing Jeff Levy.
He was the MVP of this year's annual Aero Cup Tournament in Toronto, and
was planning to play Major Junior A, but evidently had a change of heart
after Levy opted to sign a professional contract after this year's sophomore
campaign. The 'Cats needed to fill quite a few offensive skates with top
scorers Scott Morrow, Domenic Amodeo and Savo Mitrovic lost to graduation;
next year's squad will (by default) have to be much more defensive-minded.

>whose name is Sava Mitrovic (I think I spelled it right)
Savo Mitrovic graduated this Spring from UNH. He's a native born Yugo-
slavian who emigrated with his parents to Toronto when he was four years old.
