There's a number of interesting transactions today ...
The Carolina "Crimson" Hurricanes sent Ashlin Halfnight, Tripp Tracy and Ethan
Philpott to the minors -- as if anyone expected any of them to make the team.
Also -- the Ottawa Senators released former Maine goalie Blair Allison, former
Brown forward Marty "Loose Lips" Clapton ... and Martin St. Louis.
The St. Louis release is a damn shame ... I didn't even see him get into an
exhibition game ... it would've been nice to get a chance.
Since he had signed an IHL contract with Cleveland, Ottawa had to release him
back to Cleveland if he didn't make the Senators. So he does have a home in
the IHL with the Lumberjacks.
Tim Thomas was recently released by Colorado -- the only explanation for which
is that he pissed some people off -- and Colorado is deep in goal in the whole
organization.
Eric Perrin is still with the Canadiens for now, but will join St. Louis in
Cleveland if he doesn't make the team.
