88.1 FM, KVSC TO BROADCAST TWO GAMES AT SAME TIME

On Friday, February 18th, KVSC, St. Cloud State University's radio
station, will broadcast two S-C-S-U sports events simultaneously. KVSC's
engineers will split the station's stereo broadcast signal in two. In the
left channel, listeners will hear the Huskies battle Colorado College in
WCHA hockey action. The right channel will broadcast the women's basketball
matchup against Augustana College.
KVSC Station Manager Jo McMullen says the split signal experiment
will provide an unusual technical learning experience for the student
engineers and on-air staff. McMullen adds that broadcasting both events at
once will allow KVSC to continue it's commitment to coverage of both St.
Cloud State hockey and women's basketball.
The split signal experiment will start at 7:50pm Friday night, with
pre-game coverage of both hockey and basketball games.
KVSC is a member of the Association of Minnesota Educational Public
Radio Stations (AMPERS), a group of 12 non-commercial radio stations that
blanket the state. KVSC covers much of Central Minnesota broadcasting at
16,500 watts.
