I was sitting in the first row of the upper deck at the Pepsi right on the
red line. I believe that the goalie from Michigan State and from Maine could
have skated toward each other at top speed and when they met at center ice,
the MSU goalie would have skated right through the legs of the Maine
goalie. And that kid is a freshman??? Wonder how big he'll get when he
grows up!!

I agree that neither Michigan State nor Maine looked as good on Sunday as
they did on Saturday. I thought it might be because they were tired from
the day before but it might be because they were pretty evenly matched. Both
dominated the games on Saturday with speed and hustle and when they met on
Sunday, they looked slower because their opponents were faster and kept up
with them. I thought the game was excellent on Sunday and I was very
impressed with the way that Michigan State never gave up. Both bands showed
a lot of class as did the fans of both teams.

I had one serious disappointment on Sunday. I was walking on the Pepsi
concourse between the second and third period and was pretty sure I saw Ron
Mason there. I tried to get close to him to talk to him but was unable to do
so. I just wanted to be sure that he knew that there was a head coaching
job available at RPI; y'know; in case he was bored!!!!!
