Union scores a non-league win over Bentley this afternoon by a score of
5-1 at Messa Rink in Schenectady.

If it wasn't for goaltender Simon St. Pierre standing on his head in the first
period, it probably could have been 10-1. He made 15 saves in the period,
a handful of which denied Union on quality scoring chances. Bentley was
outshot 16-0 in the first period and didn't look like they belonged on the
same ice as Union. The Dutchmen skated several circles around the Falcons
throughout the period.

Bentley picked up the pace in the latter 2 periods, but Union had enough
solid goaltending from Kris Mayotte and converted on their good chances
to pull out the win.

Late in the 3rd period, two game disqualifications were handed out (1 to each
team) as a result from a scuffle in front of the Bentley goal. Union's Max Seel
tried to skate around a defenseman and score, but ran over St. Pierre, who took
exception to the play and threw punches at Seel. The ensuing fight resulted in
game DQs to Union's Matt Vagvolgyi and Bentley's Ryan Mayhew - both are
lost for their team's next game.
