Right you are, Clay. ESPN had the championship game of our "minor
conference" on, the Big West, as Cal Poly lost to Utah State, but a
national broadcast, if you can believe that.
Amazing, I just think many squeakball junkies around the country (the
game started at midnite back east!) watched it even if they didnt know
Cal Poly from Cal Tech from Cal from Southern Cal. This in spite of the
fact that the outcome was really irrelevant, because either team will
lose 96-50 to whomever they play in the first round.
The game, in spite of me rooting for Cal Poly, was dull, slow and low
scoring. I much rather would have seen a college hockey game, but, as
you say, the numbers are not with us, and I doubt they ever will be.
