I didn't go to the game. I wanted to, but I had a track meet at
Southern Connecticut State University. I heard the good news from my
mother when I called home from the meet. Needless to say, the members
of the tea were both speechless, then psyched about the win. Being friends
with a majority of the seniors on this (hockey) team, I can say that they
really needed this game. Hopes are high for this weekend's last homestand
against Princeton and Yale.

A lot of the players on the team were vocal about the fans' conduct after the
8-1 loss here at Union. They, and the fans, did not take kindly to the rantings
and ravings of the Cornell faithful that showed up at Union. We knew that if
there was a game to win on the road, that it had to be at Cornell, to "get
even". And they did. Enough said.

I talked to Clifford today, and he explained that he was just meandering
around the ice during the stoppage and he turned around and accidentally bumped
the trainer with his stick. The trainer took offense, but it was purely a
mistake.

The Cornell faithful have been one of the only group of fans that have been
written up in the New York Times because of their "eccentric" antics during
home games at Lynah. This tradition continued last Saturday. It was also
displayed at the Achilles game as well. As I have stated before, our traveling
fans make it a point to applaud our team's success while, at the same time, to
try to be polite since they are in someone elses' arena. I find it satisfying
that our fans were extremely polite and graceful at Lynah while the Cornell
faithful that appeared at Achilles in January couldn't match this level of
sophistication. We went to see a game at Lynah Rink, not Achilles West.
Enough said. Good luck in the playoffs, Big Red. Hope you can answer the
wake-up call you received this weekend. Yours truly. keith.
