CONTEST #3 - pick the winners and the score of each game
Information required:
1)name, address(city,state), e-mail address,
team affiliation (optional), league affiliation (optional).
2)for each game, choose the winning team and the final score.
3)for the total tournament, predict how many games go into OT
and the total goals scored in the tournament.
Contest scoring:
1) For each 1st round game (games 1-4 where all participants are
known in advance), 5 points will be awarded for picking the
winning team. In addition, having picked the winner and the score,
you will have predicted how many goals each team will score.
Additional points will be awarded as follows:
a) predict the number of goals scored by either team
and 3 additional points will be awarded
b) if your predicted number of goals for either team is off by
one, 2 additional points are awarded
c) if your predicted number of goals for either team is off by
two, 1 additional point is awarded
You need not pick the winning team to get points.
For example, suppose RPI faces North Dakota in the 1st round, and you choose
North Dakota to win 4-3. If RPI wins 5-4 ;-) ;-) ;-), the scoring would be
calculated as :
0 points (didn't predict the winner)
+ 3 points(for predicting UND would score 4 goals)
+ 1 point since you predicted RPI would score 3 and they scored
5 (hence,you were off by 2)
2) For each 2nd round game (games 5-8 where only one of the
participants are known in advance),
7 points will be awarded for picking the
winning team.
3) For each game of the Phrozen Phour (games 9-11 where none
of the participants are known in advance),
9 points will be awarded for picking the
winning team.
4) If, at the end of the tournament, the preceding does not
determine a winner, the first tiebreaker will be the total
number of games that go into OT.
If the number of OT games does not determine a winner, the second
tiebreaker used will be the total goals scored in the tournament.
You must specify the total number of goals scored in the appropriate
line in the tiebreaker sectionof the entry form.
If that line is left blank, I will use zero for the total goals scored.
If no winner is determined after tiebreakers, co-winners will be declared.
