Congratulations Brian!
 
The "just" announced awarding of the 1996 Hobey Baker Award to Minnesota's
own Brian Bonin is fantastic news for Gopher puckheads!  Having personally
watched Brian play both high school (White Bear Lake) and college hockey, I
couldn't be more happy for one of the most talented, intelligent, and all
around good guys. For the last four years Brian has been my chief "example"
of how a hockey player should play the game when I'm working with youth
players from Squirts on up.  Without question, Brian will be extremely
missed by this HUGE Gopher puck fan!
 
Note: This Hobey makes three for the University of Minnesota and five for
Minnesota born players.  Could Crowley be next?
 
Also, before the tournament began I felt that the winner of the Minnesota
and Michigan quarter final game would be the eventual national champion.
With only one game to go, I gotta go with the Wolverines.
