Just a few notes to add to what has already been said:

BG played about as well as it can last night vs. the Spartans. The forwards
buried their chances, the defense did not cough up the puck, and the goalie
kept the opponents off the board until the game was well in-hand. BG took 2
stupid penalties in the third; otherwise, I can't think of a single mistake!

Buzak is still a great goalie. If he had stood on his head, the score still
would have been 4-2. Most of the Falcon goals came on rebounds, where the
puck was laying at/near the crease, just waiting for a BG player to poke it
in. He let in one between his legs from the point, but I think a defender
tipped it. And he let in a Holzinger semi-breakaway shorthanded. All in all,
nothing to be ashamed of.

Clarke was solid. The only real Spartan threat in the first was on the PP.
I think he made 3 of his 7 first period saves during a 5 second span. Both
goals that he did allow were on rebounds. He stopped Carter by dragging his
left (far side) pad in the third to make sure MSU wouldn't be making a comeback.

The Green and White offense was not clicking. Several times, a Spartan had
an open shot and tried to one-time it, only to half-whiff and give Clarke an
easy one to save.

A big big win for the Falcons. They will be tied for first (at least) in the
new year. Even the most optimistic Buddy Powers backers were not predicting
this.....
