        Hockey East athletic directors voted unanimously to hold off on a
decision on Maine's status for the league playoffs until a decision is
forthcoming by the NCAA.
        The NCAA has been asked to rule on a possible forfeiture
involving games in which Patrice Tardif, who may be ineligible, participated.
        According to Bob DeGregorio, Hockey East commissioner, the
decision "... is, hopefully, expected by this weekend and the league can
make its decision on Maine's status in the playoffs at that time."
