The box below gives you the times of the Western comeback. Let me add a
few things that aren't shown in the box. All 3 WMU goals at the end
came from out by the blueline, past the face-off circle to Petrie's
left. The majority of BG's shots came from right in close. And no, we
didn't go to a 2 ref/2 linesman system last night. Mark Shegos was late
getting to the game because of the snow, so local ref (and old-time
CCHA linesman) Greg Jordan filled in for the first period. Greg then
had to dart off to do a high school game in Toledo.

The BG loss pretty much wipes out their chances of finishing higher
than 5th. With a win, they are tied with WMU in points and win the
tie-breaker, basically putting them +1 over WMU. But the loss puts them
4 points back and they now lose the tiebreaker, basically making them
-5 with WMU. So it was a 6-point loss. With the LSSU win, the Lakers
control their own destiny; if they win the rest of their games, they
finish ahead of BG. With Miami beating Michigan, BG has to concentrate
on Kent tonight and the Redksins on Tuesday, just to hold on to 5th.
Boy, what a difference two minutes can make.

The CCHA scores (for completeness):
Miami 5-3 Michigan
Lake Soo 3-0 Ill-Chicago
Kent 6-5 Ohio State (OT) (OSU was up 5-2 with 14:00 to go)
Ferris 6-4 MSU
And Air Force beat Fairbanks 2-1, according to WMPL
