Adding to the comments on assists, I took a quick look at last season's
CCHA and NHL stats. If 2 points were awarded for a goal and 1 for an
assist, there would certainly be some change among the individual point
leaders -- but not as much as some might think. The top 5 CCHA scorers
would remain unchanged, and the *new* top 5 NHL scorers were all in the
established top 7. Given the option, who would prefer Brett Hull over
Mario Lemieux?
