UMASS DARTMOUTH FORWARD HONORED BY ECAC NORTHEAST CONFERENCE
CAPE COD, MA– Junior forward Jeff Grant (Burlington, MA/Austin Prep) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth’s hockey team has been honored for his performance last week.
Grant has been named Eastern College Athletic Conference Northeast Player of the Week. He has now earned that honor in each of the last two seasons.
Grant scored twice and added an assist as UMass Dartmouth won both of their league games last week,. defeating Worcester State, 7-1, and Assumption, 5-1. His goal against the Greyhounds was his second game-winning goal of the season and the 17th of his career, which leads all Corsairs. He led the NCAA in game-wining goals in each of the last two seasons, and has scored 57 goals and added 60 assists for 117 points in 93 games at UMass Dartmouth.
“Jeff Grant’s goal at Assumption was the key goal in the game,” said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach John Rolli. “As is the case with many of his game winners, it was a decisive goal, coming just 22 seconds after Assumption had tied the score.”
The Corsairs are 7-4-1, 6-0-0 in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Northeast. They will return to action when they visit Salve Regina in a non-conference game Wednesday evening.
