NHC IS RANKED BEST ATMOSPHERE TO PLAY IN THE WCHA
St. Cloud, Minn. -- This week the WCHA website fan poll asked "Who has the
best game (men's hockey) atmosphere in the WCHA?"
The runaway winner in the online poll, as voted on by WCHA fans, was St.
Cloud State University's National Hockey Center. SCSU led the league with
41.0% while UND was second with 22.9% of the vote. Minnesota - 13.3%,
Wisconsin - 10.8%, Colorado College - 4.8%, Michigan Tech - 3.6%, Denver -
2.4%, MSU Mankato - 1.2%, Minn-Duluth - 0% and Alaska Anchorage - 0%
completed the poll rankings.
The #6/#7 Huskies will be back in the house this weekend when they host
Michigan Tech at 7:05 p.m. on both Jan. 12 and Jan. 13. SCSU is currently
off to its best-ever start with a solid 15-4-1, 10-4-0 WCHA (2nd place)
record.
The Huskies are averaging over 5,700 fans per game in the National Hockey
Center (cap. 5,763). Last year, SCSU ranked ninth among Division I programs
with an average attendance total of 5,881 per game.
