Continuing a thread from the Clarkson board
a) I thought you had to be a conference for 2 years before the NCAA
allowed you to enter the tourny.
b) 2001 would be the IHA's 2nd year, but the MAAC's third.
c) If we still have a 12 team NCAA tournament, we get the following
bids:
2 ECAC
2 HEA
2 CCHA
2 WCHA
1 MAAC
1 IHA
-------
10 teams already in. That leaves *2* at-large bids. Assuming the tourny
does not expand, do we get rid of the "CC" (RS champ auto bid) and
"Clarkson" ( RS + tourny = bye) rules? There will be some very good
teams not invited to the big skate. Conceivably a 2nd place team that
bows out in the quarterfinals could be left @ home.
