After splitting two consecutive weekend series, the Wildcats find
thereselves in a unfamiliar situation this year, struggling. NMU has
split the weekend series with St. Cloud and now Alaska- Anchorage. NMU's
offense didn't come to the hockey game last Saturday, It has been a
struggle for Northern to keep possesion of the puck in the opposing
teams zone all year, this was very evident in NMU's losses to Minnesota.
After losing a pair a few weeks ago in Minnesota the team has not been
the same. NMU's major problem this year is injuries. Junior Greg Hadden
is out indefenitely with a quadriceps contusion and Senior Steve
Carpenter is sitting with a pulled groin. More bad news for NMU is the
injury to Brian Ganz. NMU has been looking to its youth with Darcy
Dallas and Dean Seymour playing outstanding hockey as of late. It
doesn't get any easier this weekend with the Wisconsin Badgers coming to
town, If NMU plays like it did last weekend, it will be a long night at
Lakeview.
