I hate to admit it, but I was around when the the whole cowbell thing
started at Lynah.  Just fyi, the original cowbell band consisted of a
triangle, woodblock, washboard and (of course) the cowbell.  It really was
great.  In fact, after the cowbell gained popularity and others began to
bring cowbells to the games, the fans would boo the "imposters" and
completely drown them out.  Then there would be the "second string cowbell"
and "safety cowbell" cheers.  Yes, the Lynah faithful can be brutal, even
to ourselves!!!
