So far over 50 responses received, but am very much hoping for more! If you or someone from your library has not yet taken the survey (below), please set aside two minutes to do so. No joke, the survey itself estimates two minutes to complete, and why would I lie to you about that? That would just be weird.

Support for Windows 7 is ending in January 2020. Staying on Windows 7 will expose your computers to extra security risks. Other reasons about why it's time to upgrade to Windows 10 can be found at CNET's article "Windows 10. Why's it's finally time to upgrade from Windows 7<https://nam03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cnet.com%2Fg00%2Fnews%2Fwindows-10-why-its-finally-time-to-upgrade-from-windows-7%2F&data=02%7C01%7Cjared.leadbetter%40maine.gov%7C96b22e848acb46c1929108d7689c492a%7C413fa8ab207d4b629bcdea1a8f2f864e%7C0%7C0%7C637092894059111948&sdata=00LFWZ5xXukuRRjt4wRg6RiHb1%2Fqcat6SQofJga1AjA%3D&reserved=0>."

In order to understand the magnitude of this issue for Maine public libraries, I would ask that each public library please take the survey (linked below). It is a short survey intended to aggregate information about how many libraries and computers will be impacted, and the ability of our libraries to address the Windows 7 sunsetting deadline.

Please go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/win-7 to begin the survey. One survey per public library, please.

Thanks for your help!
