RECAP and PREVIEW team-by-team
BOSTON COLLEGE: tied SLU 6-6, lost to Clarkson 6-0, both at home. Ian
Moran had three assists and six different players scored as the Eagles
rallied from a 5-2 second period deficit to take a 6-5 lead in the
third before SLU tied it at 6-6. NEXT: returns to HE play with a home-
and-home aganst Providence.
BOSTON UNIVERSITY: lost at Princeton 3-2. NEXT: returns to HE play with
a home-and-home against Merrimack.
MAINE: won the Great Alaska Face-off in Fairbanks with a 3-0-0 record,
beating Yale 3-1, Bowling Green 8-1, and host Alaska-Fairbanks 6-4. In
the BG and UAF wins, Peter Ferraro led the way with 3-3--6 while Cal
Ingraham (3-2--5), Eric Fenton (2-2--4), Paul Kariya (1-3--4), Matt
Martin (1-3--4), & Jim Montgomery (0-4--4) also had four or more points.
Only remaining unbeaten DivI team (11-0-1). NEXT: returns to HE play
with two home games against second-place Northeastern.
UMASS-LOWELL: won two home games against Union 5-4 and Vermont 5-2. Both
marked a renewal of the all-time series vs each team for Lowell, which
last played Vermont and Union in the early 1980s when Lowell was DivII.
5 different players scored against Union, while Shane Henry's two goals
led the way against Vermont. NEXT: returns to HE play with a home-and-
home against UNH.
MERRIMACK: split at Air Force, 7-5 and 3-4. 7 different players scored
in the 7-5 win, with Teal Fowler returning to the lineup strong (1-2--3).
G Mike Doneghey stopped 42 of 47 shots. Dan Gravelle also added 1-2--3
and had 1-1--2 in the 4-3 loss. NEXT: returns to HE play with a home-
and-home against BU.
NEW HAMPSHIRE: lost in HE action at home to Northeastern, 7-5. NEXT:
meets UMass-Lowell in a home-and-home.
NORTHEASTERN: strengthened hold on second place with 7-5 HE win at UNH.
Huskies led 3-2 after one and goals by Adam Hayes and Dino Grossi (2)
in the second gave NU a commanding 6-3 lead. NEXT: travels to Maine
for a pair of HE games.
PROVIDENCE: won at Cornell, 7-0. Craig Darby had two goals and Bob
Cowan added three assists. G Bob Bell recorded his first career shutout
with 27 saves. NEXT: plays Brown in the annual Mayor's Cup Game at the
Providence Civic Center 11/30, then returns to HE play with a home-and-
home against BC.
