The New York Times ran a story yesterday (Sunday, 5 February) about
the Beanpot and what it means to the players.

>For the players, it will be a meeting of neighborhood friends and
>old rivals; of off-season workout partners and summer-league
>teammates; and of players who have competed with, and against, one
>another on national teams.
>
>Even though college hockey's recruiting base has spread to all
>corners of the United States and Canada, and even to Europe, the
>rosters of these four teams remain well populated by Eastern
>Massachusetts kids who share an accent, know the best summer beaches
>and have minimal degrees of separation.
