It must have been a wild night at Achilles as Union opened their league play
with a 6-5 win over St. Lawrence before a crowd of 1,998.
Jordan Webb had two goals and two assists for Union. Scott Seney, Jonathan
Poirier, Oilivier Bouchard and Brian Kerr also scored for the Dutchmen, who
rallied from a 3-2 deficit midway through the second by scoring four straight
goals. Union earlier had climbed out of a 2-0 hole.
Kris Mayotte made 42 saves for Union while St. Lawence's Mike McKenna was
chased after allowing six goals on 25 shots. The Saints got goals from five
different players.
Union, now 2-5 overall, will look for a sweep of the opening league weekend
when they host Clarkson Saturday at 7:00. Clarkson outshot RPI 40-37
tonight, including 32-18 over the final two periods, but dropped a 5-3 decision in
Troy.
