There seems to be a few people who believe the ECAC would be over represented
with two teams. When I look at the attached from a recent posting or other
postings showing theThere seems to be a few people who believe the ECAC would
be over
represented with two teams. When I look at the attached from a
recent posting or other postings showing the top 15 teams by wining
percentage, goals for, goals against, etc I do not see it that way. If
the ECAC was unrepresented or only represented by one team in
many or all of these categories I would suppose there would be
some rational basis for these opinions. Historic performance would
also be a rational basis in the event the ECAC was consistently unable
to make the final four and/or final two but again this is not the case.
Given the current data available and historic performance in the
NCAA tournament two teams from each league is not unreasonable.
Given the lack of interleague play it even seems desirable to see how
the leagues stack up to promote the game. If over time the ECAC
really can not succeed in the NCAA tournament and/or get a couple
of teams ranked in the top 15 then there is something to worry
about.
