Via Craig Cheslog, Mike Townsend, sports information director at Bowdoin sends
this message: Don't think Donato should have blamed the Swedish ref. The US
played an incredible game to stay with EUN for two-and-half periods (thank
you, Ray LeBlanc) but couldn't expect LeBlanc to make incredible saves forever.
EUN outplayed the USA pretty cleanly (last I remember, shots were 53-17), but
the Yanks played their hearts out and gave it one heck of an effort. Five
penalties is a lot for the third period, but seems not surprising when you are
forced to play so much defense. Anyway, a great game by both teams that should
not get mired in a non-controversy about poor officiating. Let's get the
bronze so we don't go home with thoughts of what might have been. GO USA!
