The 90# phone scam is mostly false.
I'm not web savvy enough to be able to post the specific URL for the
article, but The Urban Legends Reference Pages have a writeup on the #90
phone scam on their site at http://snopes.simplenet.com/index.html in the
"wooden spoon" area, title "Jail Call." This site has well documented
writeups of many different urban legends. I've found a writeup on every
story I've ever checked out, and 90% of them are false....
I strongly encourage everyone to verify "dire warning" messages such as
this before forwarding them on - rumors like these will be perpetuated
forever unless we all take the responsibility to eradicate them from the
internet. I know it's a lot easier (and more fun!) just to hit the forward
button, but please don't do it!
