In a USA Today article by Kevin Allen, he reported that Bill Beagan,
CCHA Commissioner, has written a letter to Michael Eisner, Disney CEO &
Mighty Ducks fame, requesting his assistance in promoting a 5th collegiate
conference including California schools.  Mentioned specifically for a
possible Pacific Conference were UAF (apparently the CCHA teams are
unwilling to admit UAF into the conference as a full member due to travel
concerns), UAA, Denver, maybe CC, and then USC and UCLA.  The CCHA is
apparently doing all possible to foster and maintain at least the UAF
program.
 
     My Comment:  One can only hope that college hockey actually makes it
to the West.  We in Flagstaff only dream that NAU might some time be a part
of it!
