Hmmm, not wait a minute, Phil, hasn't the program there at
Bowling Green been on the way down since Ron Mason left twelve
(or is it thirteen) years ago? :-))
Cheer up, Phil. The hockey program is on the way up again at
Bowling Green. They've got some real good freshmen there. They've
found a goalie, are better on defense, and have some fine forwards.
Pronger, Harkins, Holzinger, Helbing, and one or two other freshmen
are really fine forwards. It just takes a little time for those 10 starting
freshmen to mature and settle into big-time college hockey.
The program there had some adversity with the terminal illness of
their assistant coach a while back, but they look like they're on
the road to recovery now.
Buckeye Bowling Green fans can't be too upset - after all, they
could have Jerry Welsh for a coach and a hanger for an ice rink!
