Maine is now 37-0-3 at home in its last 40. The Black Bears' next home
contests come Nov 13-14 vs Merrimack. Hockey East teams played 14
nonleague games this weekend and went 10-4-0 (not including PC-Vermont).
However, minus Maine and Merrimack's sweeps of non-Division I teams,
HE was just 6-4-0: 2-0-0 vs the CCHA, 3-1-0 vs Indeps (Air Force and
UAA), and 1-3-0 vs the ECAC awaiting PC-Vermont.
Next weekend, six of the eight teams continue nonconference play before
opening their seasons. In an odd scheduling twist, Maine will play at
Providence Saturday to close out the two teams' season series already.
8 more HE-ECAC games will take place. Northeastern and Lowell make the
dreaded North Country trip while BU and BC play at RPI and Vermont
respectively. Merrimack will play at Dartmouth and then host RPI in a
rare Sunday afternoon tilt.
