UNO had the first tie in its one year history, as Alabama-Hunstville tied
the team from Omaha with 16 seconds left in the third. UNo again fell behind
1-0 early on, but came back to take a 3-2 lead heading for most of the
third. UNO killed off 3 consecutive penalties late in the third, and
appeared to be heading out with a sweep of the #1 Div II team. But alas, we
let a goal in with 16 seconds left, and nothing happened in OT, and UNO had
to settle for 3 of the 4 points.
UNO returns home for a series with Air Force, hits the road for a series
with 2nd-year Mankato St. before coming back home to the Omaha Civic
Auditorium to face Huntsville again. The Mavs will round out the year on the
road at traditional powerhouse Maine, and finish up back where it started,
at home, against Mankato State in the 2nd half of the battle of the WCHA
prospects.
