Subject: Michigan State Recruits
I can't believe that I beat Glenn Keeney to this but here's the information on
the newest additions to the Spartan Hockey family. They are:
Shawn Horcoff, 6-0, 175 center from Castlegar, BC. Led the BC Junior Hockey
League with 49 goals and 96 assists for 145 points in 58 games for the Chillow
ack Chiefs. Co-MVP of BCJHL. Coached by former Spartan Harvey Smyl.
Mike Weaver, 5-10, 175 from Bramalea, ONT. Had 10 goals and 49 points for the
Bramalea Blues of the Provincial Junior A League. Selected as the league's
top defensemen.
Brad Hodgins, 5-10, 185 from Duncan, BC. Teammate of Horcoff's. He had 19
goals and 73 points in 56 games.
Dan Zaluski, 5-10, 170 from Smithfield, RI. Played last season with the Green
Bay Gamblers of the United States Hockey League. 7 goals and 48 points in 65
games.
Mike Gresl, 6-1, 175 goalie also from the Green Bay Gamblers. This team won
the US Junior Championship. 2.69 GA and .930 save percentage and a 19-4
record
Kevin O'Keefe, 6-2, 190 right wing transfer from UIC.
Coach Mason said that he expects to add one or two more players in a week or
two.
Information in this post was taken from an article in the Friday (?) edition
of the "Lansing State Journal". The article was written by Neil Koepke.
