I totally agree with Mike on this. Remember what college athletics is
about, getting an education and a degree to go with the experience of
teamwork and such (though some might not agree with this).
What will probably happen, and I am sure this is already done, is that
the kids not offered full scholarhsips will robably be compensated
with a great financial aid package.
For example, I know of team members that have gotten work study positions
in athletic departments, or just a lot of grants and aid. Who's to
really say how the financial aid comes, but it does.

Which is exactly what I am talking about above. I am sure academic
scholarships were offered, and hence coming to RPI was a little easier.
One of my biggest questions concerns some of the Ivies. How does a walkon
afford to play at a Harvard for example? Academic scholarships and
other forms of aid must come into play.
