Boy, I must really be getting old...I thought I remembered that John
transferred to RPI for 1985-86, but Sid may be right. I sent a note
to Sam saying that he and Oates did not play together, but I might be
wrong.
Anyway, he certainly played in 1985-86. John was one of the very last
transfers, as I recall, to be allowed to play immediately upon going
from one DivI school to another, because of the grandfather clause in
the new rule that started forcing players to sit out a year. Bill
Kopecky was another, from BC to RPI.
John Tiano has kids...now I know I am getting up there.
