MINNEAPOLIS, MN–For the third time this season, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth’s hockey team played has made a breakthrough in the United States College Hockey Online Division III poll.

The Corsairs, who have twice been ranked as high as 11th in the poll, achieved their highest ranking ever this week when they were ranked 10th. UMass Dartmouth moved up after defeating Salve Regina and Western New England last week.

Manhattanville is ranked first in the poll, ahead of Oswego State and St. Norbert. Neumann is ranked sixth, Hobart eighth and Norwich ninth. The Corsairs are the sixth ranked team in the east, and they are ranked second among New England teams.

“The top ten ranking is a credit to the players on this team,” said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach John Rolli. “Our team has showed up to play every night.”

The Corsairs have the top two scorers in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Northeast in junior Jeff Grant ((Burlington, MA/Austin Prep, 14 goals-16 assists-30 points) and senior Kyle McCullough (Danvers, MA/Boston Jr. Blackhawks, 12-16-28). UMass Dartmouth is 14-1-1 overall and 6-0-0 in conference play and will return to action Saturday night at Southern New England.
