Princeton tied Harvard saturday afternoon, 4 - 4. This was an entirely
different Tiger team than the one that lost to Brown friday night, a game
which coach Don Cahoon called the teams' worst game of the year.
Harvard scored twice early in the first to make the Baker loyalists fear
another repeat of friday night, but then Tiger's settled down. Andre Faust
scored a goal with 4 seconds left in the period to make it 2 - 1 after one.
This score held through the second period, as both teams skated well but
Harvard's goalie Chuckie Hughes and Princeton's goalie Roderick Yorke
played well to keep the period scoreless. Freshman Yorke had 43 saves on
the night. Mike McKee scored a PPG 11 seconds in to the 3rd, to knot the
score at 2. McKee has been a real catalyst for the team since he was
moved to wing on the first line with Andre Faust. McKee, a former
defenseman, has good speed and size (6'3", 207) and complements Faust
well. Matt Zlinkas put Princeton up 3 - 2, but Harvard tied the game
shortly thereafter. The teams traded goals to make the score 4 - 4 after
regulation play. The overtime was fast paced and exciting, with most
of the Baker crowd on their feet the whole time, but neither team could
score. Princeton had a power play for the last 24 seconds, but could not
score. Harvard is now 1-1-1 in their last three trips to Baker Rink.
