[This is forwarded from Brian Farenell]

Harry Ammian had his hand raised more often than the Statue of Liberty in
Clarkson's 8-2 rout of Colgate.

The score was 2-0 after one and 4-2 after two but the Knights blew it
open in the third with 4 goals, three of which Colgate goalie Ken Baker
should've handled. Clarkson's 3rd goal occured when Shawn Fotheringham
had just stepped out of the penalty box and got the puck. On the breakaway,
he put the puck between Baker's legs to make it 4-2 and stop the COlgate
momentum. Because with Clarkson up 3-0, Colgate got a 5-on-3 and netted
two PPG to close the defecit. With Clarkson up 6-2, Baker went behind the
net to play the puck but it hit something in the boards and bounced right
out to a Clarkson player who put it into the empty net. The final goal
was a weak wrist shot by Guy Sanderson trickled through Baker's legs.

It was quite evident that Baker (a freshman) was rattled by the CLarkson
student section. At one point, after covering a dump in, he looked at the
student section and raised his hands as if to say, cheer for me now that
I made a save. He was visibly frustrated by the team's performance but
his action was counterproductive as the students were only spurred on by
that action and harassed Baker even more.

As for officiating, it was a tale of two halves. About ten minutes into
the second period, Ammian totally stopped calling anything whereas before
he let nothing go. In all fairness, Ammian was very consistent in each
of the two halves but it was quite a change right in the middle. In the
first ten minutes of the game, there was almost no full strength vs.
full strength situations. Each team had a few 5-on-3's and Colgate got
a penalty while on a 3-on-3.

Anyways, Clarkson visits RPI and Union next weekend.

Clarkson is now 17-6-1 overall and 11-4-1 ECAC. They are 30-1-2 at home
in their last two seasons.
