Scoring

1st Period
00:14 UIC Mike Real (1) (Jim Maher, Jeff Blum)
Michigan won the faceoff and the first time they cleared the UIC
zone, Blum and Maher found Real uncovered. On the breakaway Real
            beat Shields.

UIC then faced a series of penalties and after Michigan could not
            score on a 5 on 3 ...

08:03 UIC Link Bessert (4)
Forechecking paid off as Bessert stole the puck in the Michigan
            goal and beat Shields again.

UIC had to kill another 5 on 3 as the first five penalties were
called on UIC. Penalties began to even out and UIC got two 5 on 3
opportunities toward the end of the period.

2nd Period

16:31 UIC 4 on 4 Mike Dennis (2) (Rick Judson, Chris Watson)
17:33 UIC 3 on 3 Mark Zdan (11) (Eric Schneider)

3rd Period
05:46 Mich David Oliver (22) (Chris Tamer, Brian Wiseman)

UIC played a solid game and was not intimidated. The UIC power play was
ineffective but a good defense and the hot goaltender - Jon Hillebrandt - kept
Michigan form scoring on its many opportunities.

Next - Tomorrow night a repeat at the UIC Pavilion.
