Question for the combined wit and wisdom of HOCKEY-L:

I just looked over the slightly-refined tiebreaking system for the WCHA and
noticed a bit of an oddity.  The first tiebreaker is head-to-head record...
sort of:

"A) If two or more teams are tied, and all teams tied have played four
contests against one another, then the team with the most accumulated
points from these head to head contests will be granted the higher seed. "

I'm not mis-reading that, right?  Head-to-head would not apply, for
example, in a potential tie in the standings between Alaska-Anchorage and
Michigan Tech, because those two teams will have only played twice during
the regular season.  So we throw out AA's 1-0-1 record head-to-head and go
on to the next tiebreaker, which is league wins.

I suppose I can see their point.  Head-to-head could be seen as a little
unfair, since both games were at AA and MTU would never have gotten the
chance to show what they could have done on their home ice.
