Here are the standings after six games of the world junior hockey
championships.  Although Canada has clinched the gold medal, the bronze
and silver are still up for grabs when the final games are played Wednesday.

        In case someone thinks my comments on the US team effort and lack
of pride were extreme I submit this quote from Jason Bonsignore of the US
team who was responding to a question about why the US did not win
against the Ukraine, "It's just hard to swallow when you lose a game like
this one.  It's a game we should have won.  It's hard to come up with one
specific answer but, since we lost to Canada, it seems like some of the
guys have given up.  That's not the right attitude to have."
