Even to non-college media, the Carolina Hurricanes' Mike Commodore
often brings up how much he enjoyed his collegiate experience (North
Dakota 1997-00). He is still sometimes seen hanging out around Grand
Forks during the offseason. He's a fan favorite wherever he plays.

Commodore chose to spend his day with the Stanley Cup at UND, visiting
his old dorm, his favorite professor's class and a favorite hangout
before going to the pep rally.

"Wearing a UND polo and with a Fighting Sioux tattoo on his ankle
easily visible, the Carolina Hurricanes defenseman hauled the most
famous trophy in sports around campus like it was going through
freshman orientation."

I'm sure he's not the first to bring the cup to a campus or have a
collegiate tattoo, but I thought this was a good story for the
offseason and I appreciate what he puts back into collegiate hockey.

(It's almost September!)
