I can't remember Wyatt Smith of the Gophers taking a faceoff this year. He
gets tossed out of the circle nearly every time. Most of the time he alone
gets tossed out but sometimes he takes a player with him. This has
happened to Wyatt more than any other college player I can remeber. So
often that I am wondering if this might be a planned strategy. It does make
some sense to have a second rate faceoff player whack the opposing player,
and either intimidate or take the other player out with him.
Is there anything to prevent this?
