OK, I have a couple of sieve stories from my time at Harvard ('87-'91).
During an exhibition game vs. a traveling team from Russia, the
ever-enterprising fan named Alvar (whose life seemed to revolve around
Harvard hockey) held up a sign with the word sieve.... in Russian. Sure
enough, the entire Bright arena was soon sieve-ing away in the opposing
goalie's native tongue.
Another bit of sieve creativity comes from the clarinet section in the
Harvard Band, who play Hava Nagila while the band sings "sieve, sieve,
sieve, goalie; sieve, sieve, sieve, goalie..." with appropriate pointing.
Perhaps my favorite cheer (of a PG nature, at any rate) was the cheer
directed at Harvard goalie Chuckie Hughes in an '89 drubbing of some
opponent. "Let Chuckie score!" was the cheer, since he was about the only
player on the ice who _hadn't_.... :-)
And if you haven't heard the "black hole" cheer at Bright, you haven't heard it.
