With the tournament now complete the pool is complete as well.

Bowdoin College Sports Information Director Mike Townsend is the
winner. As I've already posted, he locked up his title on
Thursday when Wisconsin eliminated Michigan. Mail can reach Mike
care of Craig Cheslog, [log in to unmask] Mike misjudged the
outcome of only three games in the entire tournament, namely BU-MSU,
Maine, and Michigan to go to the finals, and he finishes with 17 of
23 possible points. Congrats, Mike !!!!!!

Second place honors go to Cornell's Bill Fenwick, HOCKEY-L's own
pollster. He finishes with 15 points and can be reached as

Third place goes to MSU's Glen Keeney, who obtained 14 points and

The three gentlemen mentioned above also receive honors as the only
ones to correctly guess this year's national champions, the Lakers of
Lake Superior. Noone picked Wisconsin to make it to the finals.

The tiebreaking criterion, the score of the final game, didn't come
into play, but the following people did correctly guess the 5-3
margin, even though they had the wrong teams.

Mich Tech's "The Flame" [log in to unmask]
St. Lawrence's Robin Lock [log in to unmask]
Louie Laplant [log in to unmask]
Cal Tech's Stephen Leroy [log in to unmask]
Clarkson's Bri Farenell [log in to unmask]
Ohio State's Dave Smith [log in to unmask]
Mike Machnik [log in to unmask]

I find it amazing that out of 26 responses, 7 of you picked the
correct final score !!!! 5-3 was a very popular choice for
final score, but 4-3 was equally popular, both getting 7 nods.

Lastly, on the ratings war note, TCHCR finishes with 13 points,
compared to 5 for RPICH. The crowd favorites, which were
identical to the RPICH selections, received the same 5 points,
even though there were only 11 out of 26 people who finished
with 5 or less points.

Once again, congrats to Mike Townsend for winning the pool,
congrats to Keith Instone for TCHCR's performance, and congrats
to the Lakers on their national championship. Thanks to all
of you who took the time to respond to the pool.

Tim
