The Brown Bears, still searching for their AWOL scoring punch, were tied
by Rensselaer in an ECAC match at Meehan Auditorium this evening.

After a scoreless first period, Brown took a lead at 19:50 of the second
period when Captain Tye Korbl nudged a loose puck past the Engineers' Kevin
Kurk during a traffic jam in front of the RPI goal. Bear sophomore forward
Jarrett Robertson, who started the play with a rush up the right lane, and
sophomore forward Chris Swon both collected an assist on the go-ahead goal.

RPI junior forward Ryan Shields deadlocked the contest at 0:52 of the
3rd period. Stationed to the left of the Bear goal with his back to Brown's
junior goaltender Yann Danis, Shields moved the puck behind his back and his
blind shot caught the right corner of the net before Danis could cover.
Engineer Junior forward Mikael Hammarstrom and freshman forward Kevin
Croxton were each credited with an assist on the tally.

The teams played the remainder of regulation time as well as a
five-minute overtime period without any further scoring.

PENALTIES:
Brown: 8 for 16 min.
Rensselaer: 6 for 12 min.

POWER PLAYS:
Brown : 0/7
Rensselaer: 0/5

SAVES:
Yann Danis (Brown) 13 - 7 - 11 - 0 = 31 (1 GA)
Kevin Kurk (Rensselaer) 6 - 8 - 6 - 1 = 21 (1 GA)

The Bears will attempt to break through on their power play drought
tomorrow night when the Union Skating Dutchmen arrive at Meehan Auditorium
for a 7:00 p.m. ECAC contest.
